Just read this today as well. Should be interesting to see if there is a sustainable market for them. Personally I could care less that they don't have large claws. I wonder if you would have to do separate ponds for spring/fall crop?

"Some locals were skeptical of shaking up crawfish tradition. Al Mahler, owner of Big Al's Seafood in Houma, said locals associate crawfish with spring and may be indifferent to mudbugs served up in fall"

I agree with that statement. AL is also a great guy.
I would think that this would bring the spring crawfish prices down as well since people won't be in a rush anymore to get the first sacks of the season.

This is a bad idea IMO.
Personally, if i eat crawfish, i need a bathroom 30 minutes to 1 hour later. And i'm not talking a dirty arse port-o-potty. I need space, and a toilet seat that isn't covered in piss vomit and period blood.

I guess all that salt water gets you too.

It's rough man. And i, for one, do not enjoy that feeling of having to drop deuce when it's 1 pm and the game is at 7 and the closest option is a port-o-potty.

I just read this article today. While I understand the argument against it, I don't think that crawfish will be available year round. It sounds like instead of being available 3 months out of the year, it will be available for 6 months. There's still plenty of time to crave crawfish. I'd buy it if it was available in September or October. I look forward to crawfish boils being not so miserably hot.

Cool, will be interesting to see if this works.

there's a reason that god spread these two seasons apart, if humans try to combine these it could open up the horsemen of the apocalypse

I don't know about you, but I had crawfish at least once a month from November to June.
