Thoughts on:
Mediterraneo (Ocean Springs)
Blow Fly Inn
Vrazels
High Cotton
Mary mahoney's
Been to a couple of these, but want updated thoughts and how they compare, etc. Thanks.

Of the restaurants you named (have not been to Mediterraneo):
Mary Mahoney's
Vrazels
Blow Fly Inn
High Cotton
I'd put The Chimney's ahead of Vrazels as well. I've also heard good things about Cuevas Bistro, but haven't been there yet. Had a very solid meal at French Charley's over the 4th; it's a good change of pace from the norm.

Need to look at The Sycamore House in BSL. Confusion in Gulport, Old Cuevas Bistro in the Pass, and the Jourdan River Steamer in the Kiln (Maybe Banty's too).

sycamore was my first choice but no lunch on the day I need. Need dinner to be closer to hard rock.

Mahoney's is across the street. Have a chat with the owner, really cool and funny guy.

Eh, we had a great time with him. Could have been the booze though.

That the High Cotton in Charleston, SC?
I went back in 01 or 02. I don't remember much other than it was nice and good. I was too young to appreciate it.

Ah you're right. I didn't notice the Gulf Coast in the subject.

Confusion would be my choice. It's just more modern than the others in the area. Shouldn't be more than 10 minutes away. It's on that side of Gulfport, just down the beach from the Beau.

Vrazeals, Great food, but we had a horrible experience there a few weeks ago
Mary Mahoneys, great old school fancy cooking, just dont expect anything new or creative, very good service done by professional waiters

That's why I was saying Confusion, just because you know it will be a modern approach with nice twist to the ingredient list. Called just now and they are open, though their website is down.
It's a GREAT martini bar too. The owner made his own concrete bar and sea glass liquor display. It's just got the right attention to detail that you want from a nice dinner. The owner will be there making drinks, shaking hands, making 100% sure you have everything perfect. That's my kind of place.

He's related to the folks who own Dragos. I think he said they're his cousins.
It's a neat place and I like it. Don't expect the food to blow you away, though.

Driving from Biloxi to Gulfport on the beach in the summer is a 30 minute drive minimum.

On the map it only looks like 12-13 miles or so. I don't see you wouldn't be able to drive 45. It's been a while for me, but I've gone that way to play tennis in Biloxi and it never seems that far.

Would you really want to eat at a place called the "Blow Fly Inn"?
