my EPL team . . . Tottenham Hotspur?

I would like some feedback from the EPL afficionados who lurk here. I read a great article that thoroughly describes the good a bad points for choosing a particular EPL team and I've done a bit of research myself.
I would like to pull for a team in London (would make a vacation more practical) and Tottenham seems like a good choice. What do you guys think?

Ha ha. Read about that. English soccer truly is weird. The whole Jewish thing (which, as you know, has nothing to do with anyone actually being Jewish) is kinda cool to me. I especially like the way the Tot. fans just rolled with it.

Tottenham positives:
-Great fan base, travel very well
-A decent amount of money
-Good manager
-Great location
-Great rivalry with Arsenal, probably the best in the EPL in terms of dislike for one another.
-Play pretty attractive soccer
-In the Champions League for 2010-11, at least the qualifying round.
-Not a "Big 4" Side
It's a very good choice atm

want to link that article? Been debating teams myself for awhile now. Leaning towards Liverpool for some reason, not sure why.

Here's the link. Liverpool was pretty high on the writer's list as well.

Premier League 101
This might help.
I also decided to throw my allegiance behing Liverpool. Then that sorry sack of crap Tom Hicks bought them. Hopefully he'll sell soon.

I don't really understand the bandwagon reference. Would that not apply to teams that are current champions or consistent winners? Tottenham, if I am not mistakan, is not even in the top four teams. Please explain.

They qualified for the Champion's League for the first time this year, beating out Manchester City for the 4th spot.
I think Tottenham would be a great club for you to start out supporting.
DO IT
there seems to be ~5 to 6 Spurs fans on this board, making the potential for banter between Arsenal fans pretty healthy

Welcome to the dark side.

I was going to start a thread like this, but I guess I'll keep this one going. I just got into the EPL this past year and didn't really have a team to root for. I have no ties to England like some people that use that as their way to pick a squad. After much deliberation, I think Arsenal is going to be my team because the name Arsenal is cool.
That is actually part of my reason, but when I was on spring break I met a couple Arsenal fans and watched the Barca games with them. They were pretty cool and got me started contemplating making Arsenal my team.

welcome to the club
I think it's safe to say Arsenal fans now hold the majority share of club soccer fans on this board.
Here's to limping our way into 4th this upcoming season boys (& mrsmiller)!!!

OK, slighty different problem... I root for Leeds and anyone who is playing Man U. I will not give up my Leeds support, but I do need someone to follow in the EPL casually. Now, here's the catch, my fiancee is getting into soccer thanks to the World Cup, and now I need to steer her to a team that won't make me want to kill her.
I've already told her that if she roots for Man U, the wedding is off. Who should I steer her towards and how? Remember, I'll probably end up casually supporting them as I wait for my beloved Leeds to regain their rightful place at the middle of the EPL table. Help a bear out.
Tottenham is eliminated by virtue of me being sick of that Bill Simmons piece.
