Ive been watching all day...ever since the top got knocked off and it started REALLY gushing oil this morning...then a few minutes ago some lava looking stuff started creeping down one side and then there was a huge cloud of oil and dirt and it was gone.

Im not kidding. Maybe something else kicked up crazy amount of oil and dirt from below? You couldnt tell what happened....but they havent gone back to the BOP since. The flow was getting CRAZY!
The pipe on the left is from an hour or two ago....see the lava looking stuff on the bottom right? It was creeping all morning!

IDK....it looked like something sure fell over. There was a huge cloud of oil and that was all you could see for awhile until the rover went somewhere else.

It looks like the ROV is trying to pick it up off the floor

Lol....no...the BOP is way bigger than that from what I understand.

No way a rover could pick up the BOP...Its a 600 ton structure

Can you tell what is going on?

This is from the BP site:
Release date: 23 June 2010
This morning at approximately 0845 CDT a discharge of liquids was observed from a diverter valve on the drillship Discoverer Enterprise, which is on station at the MC252 wellsite. As a precautionary measure, the lower marine riser package (LMRP) containment cap system, attached to the Discoverer Enterprise, has been moved off the Deepwater Horizon’s failed blow-out preventer (BOP) to ensure the safety of operations and allow the unexpected release of liquids to be analysed.
Capture of oil and gas through the LMRP cap is therefore temporarily suspended until such time that the cap can be re-installed. Capture of oil and gas through the BOP’s choke line via a manifold to the Q4000 vessel on the surface continues.
Looks like they don't even know what the hell the liquid is
ETA: Guess I should have read this better before posting. Sounds like this liquid causing the LMRP to be removed is on the ship at the surface correct?

:kaboom:
To answer your question, idk. It doesn't look like any of the fees are focused on the leak.

I can see the BOP standing upright right now. Looks like they are about to put the cap back on.
