I understand we're tired but completely resorting to longball tactics is shameful. We'r not even trying to work the ball anymore. frick
I'm not a huge fan of soccer, but I tend to watch the US in qualifying, friendlies, and (obviously) the World Cup. I've noticed this longball tactic used quite often by our team.
I was wondering; what's the philosophy behind this approach? I think I've seen it develop into a goal maybe once or twice out of innumerable times but still don't get why we do it. I figure there must be a reason, but I'm a little too ignorant of soccer to understand it.
Can anyone enlighten me?

now all the U.S. bandwagoners can finally shut the hell up. You bums should be lucky they even made it to the 2nd round because they showed nothing throughout the group stage.

This game can't be blamed on Donovan.

We had a great run, America has nothing to hang their heads about. Ghana was the better team today.
I understand what the rest of the world sees in this beautiful sport......with that being said. There has to be a way to eliminate all the pussy flopping, faking of injuries, and stalling

Let's trot out the cliches.
We need to go mercenary and pay out the arse for a proven, winning international coach that can TAKE US TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

On the bright side, all the rantards can go back to the cesspool.

you have to be careful with that. It doesn't always work. See England with frickin Sven-Göran Eriksson

how about the multiple horrible touches he had
seriously, judging by the way he's been talking about the WC 2006, I wouldn't be surprised if he retires to "find himself" after that no-show.
