Why does it matter it was shot in La.?

Presumably the more successful a La-shot film is, more films will want to shoot in La, bringing baubles, bangles and beads with them

Yeah I dunno if I agree with that logic....Everyone knew that movie was going to blow, had nothing to do with where it was shot.

not true at all. its all about tax incentives. where one movie is filmed and then another has no real correlation

Jonah Hill and Russell Brand..neither one are bankable actors, not even in the comedy realm. Hill is close, but needs the others in his group..especially Apatow..to be a draw.

^^^ This.

Brand is in the same boat as David Beckham and Robbie Williams. Adored in the UK and blown off in the US. I think the producers were thinking this would be a cross-over film for brand and that people would eat it up.

But unlike the Brits, we like our comedians dumb and non-threatening (Drew Carey). So in Get him the greek, Brand is yelling while running down a hotel hall "It's Kubrickian!"

The Brits would LOVE that joke.

Americans wouldn't even realize it's a joke.

Jonah Hex....from just seeing the previews...now THAT's Kubrickian. As in it's just all wrong and weird and you keep looking at your watch waiting for it to end.

100% truth.

movies are filmed in places like Lousiana, Michigan, Georgia, and New Mexico primarily for tax credits. Take those away and the industry in these states will dry up. If CA ever passes a somewhat aggressive incentive package then these states will dry up.

Yeah most people seem to hate the dude. I think he's pretty funny. He made fun of the Jonas brothers - strike aginst him in the under 15 crowd. And he dates Katy Perry - strike against him for all the haters who hate any guy that dates a hot chick. Thats a suprisingly large group.
