Isn't he recovering from an injury or surgery? He will probably spend this season on IR

and watch Bushrod get hurt for an extended period of time. Meanwhile we can enjoy waiting for our 3rd round pick from Washington if everything goes right.

Oh alright, good news, I thought there were reports around the draft that he wasn't going to be ready until atleast training camp.

Im not saying Bushrod sucks or that he must be replaced. But he was a definate downgrade from JB.

And if Charles Brown is able to come in and beat Jermon B out, thats good for the team because he's beating out a guy that was able to start for us last year.

he's gonna have to beat out Streif as well. He's the future and will not see the field this season unless we have multiple injuries at LT.

or unless if he's a freak like Evans and Nicks, but I doubt it.

If he cant beat out Strief then we're in trouble. Bushrod beat him out last year. Plus they prefer Strief backing up Stinchcomb and the hybrid role they had him in last year

I don't think he was a downgrade. He gave up a sack to Freeney in the SB; and Ware ate his lunch; but those guys do that to a lot of LTs. Other than that I thought he was solid.

I know Brown was a Pro Bowler, but I'm not really sure why. He was never the stud LT that he was drafted to be. Don't get me wrong, he's a good LT. But I didn't agree with his being selected for the Pro Bowl; nor did I think Stink-comb deserved it either. It's just my opinion, but I think Brown was way overrated.

Thats because you know nothing about offensive lineman performance. You hear his name called on a penalty every couple games and you assume that he sucks. Well he allowed the fewest sacks in the league on average his entire career starting for the Saints, and he has always been a mauling run blocker. The two seasons he made the pro bowl were no fluke, you just have no idea what the frick you are talking about.

I'm thinking Brown has a real good job of starting, Bushrod was simply average to below average all year, he can be beat out.

if Jammal Brown is such a devastating run blocker then why couldn't we run the ball well consistently until last year when Bushrod had to play most of the year? Having Brown in the game never seemed to dramatically improve our running attack. Just Saying.
