Let me know if my math is wrong or if I left out a scenario.

you have quite a few mistakes on there where you didn't apply points for ties

The moral of this story appears to be that if USA win vs. Algeria, the likelihood of not advancing is very small (namely, England wins today--probable--and then plays Slovenia to a tie--possible, but improbable if England hasn't clinched already). Seem right?

Let's simplify this, eh?
We will not advance if we lose to Algeria. A draw vs. Algeria will have us at 3 points, which will PROBABLY not be enough to advance. As an athlete, you focus on winning you next match, so let's just say that if the US doesn't win, we don't advance.
So, we beat Algeria, that gives us 5 points. The only match that truly matters is England/Slovenia. Why? Because Slovenia has 4 points right now. If Algeria beats England and loses to us, they only have three points. If England loses to Algeria, then they can only total 4 points with a win vs. Slovenia.
So basically, we win vs. Algeria, then we want to win by 2 or more OR we want England to beat Slovenia.
So beat Algeria by 2, and we're pretty much assured of getting into the knockout stages.

My scenario:
1. Brits tie Algeria today.
2. US crushes Algeria by 3.
3. Brits beat Slovenia by 1.
USA #1 with 5
Brits #2 with 5

Need to fix your final column, Alg will always have 1 point

So basically win and we are through. If we tie then root for Slovenia.
Either way root for Slovenia.

So, we can tie all of our group games and still advance? This Cup only happens every 4 years, you think they would require a win. I mean it is possible there will only be one win in our group. Holy cow.
