you are being pulled along for the ride so OU/UT can play every year for the big8 division BSC bid while Oregon and USC(in 3 years) plays for the pac8's side

there is not a single Aggie friend I know (and I know many) who thinks the PAC-whatever is remotely good for A&M. They all want the SEC.

Fanbases, sadly, don't get their way in most of these things.

Not for nothing, but zero corroboration from either Tony's Twitter page or his AJC.com blog.

One would think that, if he had what would amount to the scoop of the off-season (as it pertains to SEC football, at least), he wouldn't be so, how should I put it, shy about announcing it via his various sites.

Just sayin'.

Everyone on my OU side of the family wants to come to the SEC and don't understand why the admin wants to go to the pac10. They say they don't care about the effects on the UT rivalry.
As for UT and the rest of the Texas schools, with the exception of ATM, they are just trouble and have always been.
If anyone in our conference thinks the back stabbing between Bama, Tenn and Aub is bad, they should look at the history of the ole SWC and the big 12.
No wonder Nebraska and CU took the first chance to get the hell away from that incestious bunch.

Was he stating this as an opinion or because he has inside knowledge? Was it "I think they will go" or did he say "I know without a doubt they will go" ?

A & M joining the SEC will be good for the Hogs and LSU. A & M going to the Big PAC will be great.

tuck, since you are not familiar with Barnhart, I will clue you in.

he has no capability in his being to say this:
"I think"

everything that comes out of his mouth is rubber-stamped with a heavy dose of:
"I know without a doubt"

good news is that he is usually wrong.

He can be as sure of himself as he wants; but no announcement has been made by Texas A&M University, its BOR, nor anyone remotely affiliated with the Aggie Athletic Department that a Pac-10 deal has been reached; in fact, all indications from maroon inside sources trend in the opposite direction.

Barnhart is a douche. Not because he has been and always will be anti-LSU, but because he is an arrogant douche.

In all fairness, Nebraska has always been sore b/c they used to be the conf bully and just got replaced by another bully. Osborne has never forgiven UT for taking away his precious partial qualifiers and over the past few years, more and more Big 12 schools have come to their senses and just stopped voting the party line (i.e., going along with Big Red). I hate Texas as much as anyone here but the Huskers aren't exactly innocents in this whole thing.
