I rather them try to get Miami(winning tradition,What the SEC is about), Virginia tech(open up huge DC market, solid academics, and a solid team), or UNC( up and coming program under B Davis) maybe

Yeah, I've been semi-confused as to why SEC fans want A&M so badly.

SEC is the best conference in the land because they sell the best players, teams not because of markets.

I wouldn't mind A&M. I don't think Miami will join the SEC.

I'm not a self-proclaimed expert, but I'd bet that if aTm can bring in 25% of each the Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston & San Antonio TV markets, that would be more TVs than if we had 100% of Louisiana + Arkansas + Mississippi + Alabama + South Carolina!!

If my guess is even close to correct, I'd say aTm brings significant $$ to the table.

Plus a really strong and loyal (heck, fanatical) fan-base. And they are good in basketball & baseball.

A&m to me is an under performing team that can cause a headache to top teams a few times a year. Not some amazing grab for the sec that will strengthen them imo. They're like arky

That's funny....no possible way they can deliver a 25 market share. Hell, even UT can't hit that number.

A&M has WAAAYYYYY more resources (read: alumni with money) at its disposal than Arky (save Jerry Jones).

They won't always be like Arkansas or Ole Miss.

This couldn't be more wrong. They are pawning shite just to keep their lights on. Big time debt.

They have been running in the red for years and taking out loans from the academic side.

They would instantly become the poorest athletic dept in the SEC.

Where this 'A&M has money' concept comes from is beyond me. It certainly isn't the truth.

I was trying to make a generalization. Sheesh, dude.

Nor can LSU bring in 100% of the Louisiana TVs!!!

They have traditions and pageantry and can fit in as an sec school. Miami has neither of these.
