The writing was on the wall when Tulane outperformed LSU at the National Band Competition in Des Moines, IA this year. Glad we got rid of her. We need more 5'2 185 pound class women in our band! She can take her skinny women to Illinois with her. This is LSU and skinny women are out of vogue here in the Bayou Country.

My sister in the band said it was pretty much not challenging

I think there is no really mystery to running tiger band as fun and great as it is.

ps good riddance to Frank Wickes for making buy his stupid arse book and tear pages out for class credit so he could sell a new book next semester

Maybe we will finally get to hearing the Tiger Rag after the touchdowns again. Its been about 15 years since the Alabama incident. The fans deserve a second chance. The other solution is to keep the TV mikes off of the student section.

It got banned in 1987/8 (don't remember which year).

There were always periodic attempts to bring it back. Funny thing is, the parents who used to sing "a-hole" regularly, taught it to their kids.

Roy king FTW

Nope. Roy definitely needs to be on the staff, but NOT the head honcho.

What about Derle Ray Long, the UL-M band director and Tiger Band Alum?

I thought that might be a good idea or possibly Scott Hanna, former Tiger Band Drum Major and who is currently Assistant Director of Bands at Texas and Associate Director of the Longhorn Band.

An email sent by Dr. Moorehouse said the job offer came in the last 2 weeks. She also said:

"The decision to leave was
prompted by (1) an unsolicited and unexpected offer to join the UI band division two weeks ago, and (2) the realization of my situation here at LSU."

I've never met LM, so can't comment about her personally or professionally, but you don't pull some "Saban leaving for the Dolphins at the last minute BS" like this on LSU. If she wasn't comfortable at LSU, she shouldn't have accepted the job in the first place.

I don't have any confidence in the decision makers that are going to make the new hire either. Do they know anything at all about modern marching band techniques and what questions to ask of the candidates? I wasn't that impressed with the list of finalists before.......

I think so plus it would be great to bring him back to LSU away from the Longwhores.

I agree. Seems that he may be a rock solid candidate for the job.

HOWEVER...this is LSU/Louisiana. When does a proper candidate or the best candidate ever get the job?

Its not going to turn into the Human Jukebox at halftime.

Hey, the LSU powers that be should coax Dr.Issac Greggs out of retirement and let him take it over. Put em all in Gold Capes, teach em to dance while playing and change the name to
"The Golden Human Jukebox from Tigerland."
