Has the SEC not won the last four straight BCS titles, and a total of six, with "only" 12 teams?
Did not the SEC, with "only" 12 teams, just enter into some sweet TV deals with ESPN and CBS?
Do the 12 SEC schools not bring in shitloads of money by operation of their revenue sharing agreement?
Certainly, bringing some top flight programs in would be nice, but the SEC is not going to fall by the wayside if we decide to sit out the musical chairs that is presently going on.

not progressing when everyone else is, is how you fall behind. Just because things have been great, it doesnt mean you dont try to improve

definatley, but you still have to be careful to not be left behind. New tv deals are going to be worked out. Maybe new ramifications to BCS, etc.

I think the idea is to maintain that dominance.

yes,it's a profit deal. Bigger conferences means bigger markets and bigger TV contracts = more money to split. More money to split means more money to spend on facilities to attract recruits. The stay the same conference mentality is like those fans who don't understand the need for ticket price surcharges.

I htink the SEC should think long a hard before realignment. Things are pretty good the way they are.

If one conference has the California and Texas markets sewed up, that's one big pile of $$$$$$$$.

Think about all the BCS losses we gain if we let OU in.....

But one conference does not have everything sewn up. Slive needs to get off his arse and get some ink on some paper with these big TV markets. Wake up Slive....

Yeah, but the SEC usually piles losses on members who are not worthy of the post-season. Okie didn't have that quality control mechanism in the Big XII.
