BP: 'Majority' of leaking oil is being captured

I want to believe them but the feeds do not look any different than when they first put it (the cap) on there. While I know you can't exactly tell anything from the cameras, I still would like to be able to see a difference. Encouraging news nonetheless.

When they say the majority of oil is captured, think about it this way.
It's like saying, a thug unloaded six roads at my chest, but only two hit me.

Well...
It is still better than nothing.
Think of it this way. They are capturing twice as much a day than what they thought was spilling in the first place.

Dude, that's like saying my crazy ex hit me with a truck, but at least she didn't put it in reverse afterwards.
BP doesn't know how to stop the leak or they don't care to stop the leak.
Either way, lots of good people - like all the fishermen and oil workers - are screwed while they have people like you defending their ignorant and deadly actions.

Actually, I think I pointed out their incompetence in my post. Take your ill conceived notions that I am a BP apologist and shove straight up your arse. All I did was post an article, factual or not, that was pertaining to the collection of oil from "the cap".

for the people who complain about photographers taking pictures of birds instead of helping them:

slow down, chief. Didn't appear to me that he was defending anyone's action, just trying to find a bright spot. No matter how many ways you cut it, if they are capturing even 100 barrels, that's 100 barrels that isn't going into the gulf.

I can't help but laugh at statement like this.
From a purely financial standpoint, why would they want the leak to continue?
Or does the evil emotional side of BP having just pure hate for the GoM region that it wants to destroy the eco system at any cost out weigh the financial burden this will play on BP?

Before:
5,000 bpd (per BP) with none being captured.
After:
10,000 bpd being captured with more than 5,000 bpd not being captured.

BP's estimate was 5,000 barrels/day
Federal review brought in top scientists and officials and changed it to 12,000-19,000 barrels per day. BP denied it was that much.
BP is getting 10,000 barrels/day and the video still looks like a geyser and cant tell anything different from 2 days ago. Maybe BP will finally agree their 5,000/day estimate was wrong

CNN just reported that the leak is possibly much larger now and the FRTG (?) was going back to the drawing board on how much was still leaking. At least the cap is capturing 10,000 barrels though....

Tony said they were capturing 10,000 barrels, or 50% of the total, but these are the same people swearing it was 1000 barrels then 5000 barrels leaking. I know I have a Baton Rouge public school education, but I can't seem to make the numbers work. Maybe, just maybe, they don't really know how much has been leaking all this time.
