90% of the time when the ball beats u by THAT much, the ump will call u out. not saying its right, but thats baseball

its like the DBP many times the short stop or 2nd baseman miss the bag but they get the call anyway

Correct, just one of the "unwritten rules" of baseball. Like the 3-0 pitch called a strike if it is anywhere close.
