Was thinking about this while reading a link on the Saints board that says

quote:

Saints GM Mickey Loomis has done a remarkable job through the years acquiring talent via different means -- trades, draft, undrafted free agents and free agency, highlighted by bringing in Drew Brees, arguably the best offensive signing in the history of free agency.

I kinda agree with this, although I am partial to the Saints.

Who you think is the best pickup ever?

The only other answer that could be in the debate with Brees is Reggie White.

Drew Brees is the best pickup in NFL history. Dude was a major part of turning this franchise around.

i think priest was good and i loved him for fantsy football. however there are a good many running backs that could have done the same as him with that oline. larry johnson came in and was better than priest. and now that the oline is gone LJ can't do shat.

Priest might have been the best pick up until 2006, offensively. Reggie White was pretty big as well

I'd say so. And that's who'd get my vote, with Brees right behind.

I agree with this.

Reggie White said God told him to go to Green Bay... Breesus is currently enjoying his career resurrection.

Others I consider pretty high on the list: Cunningham to Minnesota, Gannon to the Raiders, Lynch to Denver and OJ Anderson to the NY Giants.

Definitely Brees. White resurrected winning in Green Bay. Brees created the championship spirit in New Orleans.

Joe Horn went from a nobody to the best WR in Saints history

Sounds about right

Though yeah Les. Deion has got to be 3 or even 2 in terms of top FA pickups
