Do you think it will work?

I have a feeling it will not be successful.
Not that I have any inside info at all. Just have my doubts.

I pray it is successful.

Based on the success of the other endeavors, put me squarely in the NO category.

I actually think that BP already knows it will not likely work. They are just biding their time until the relief well is complete.

Moreover, I would not be entirely surprised if this top kill measure does not make it worse.

even they are saying 6 or 7 out of 10. 7 out of 10 has promise...we'll have to see. Problem is that the time in between the next idea is too damn long. line this shite up and let's get going.

I've got a feeling that it'll work. They seem a little more confident than they did before the other attempts.

Those other attempts were just bandaids and sounded kind of school yard. This one just sounds better.

Same here. Lets just say that I'm more confident than the "plug it with golf balls" idea, but still not confident it will work.

ETA: FML, looks like this plan requires the golf ball idea

Heard on Fox yesterday that Russians have experienced this same thing and they just blew the thing up or something, but worked and they're scratching their heads why not try it. Maybe b/c BP refuses to lose this well and oil?

Hmmm.........

It will not work. This is just to ammuse the public. The earliest the well will be plugged is August. The relief well is the only way to stop it. The BHP is about 15000psi and the hydrostatic pressure is about 2500psi at the seafloor. Take a wild guess which way the KWM will flow once it gets through the kill line.

So its about like throwing mud into a fire hose and hoping it stops it up? Or actually quite a bit worse than that.

But yes, I hope it workds.

be more like putting a piece of dust into a fire hose and hoping it would go into the hose with only gravity pushing it down

You need to be very careful about posting what your family member is telling you. There are these confidentiality agreements that contractors have signed.

I can promise you that you have misunderstood what your family member has told you or he is flat out lying to you or you don't know shite.

they "think" they know how the lower well bore is flowing into the riser but they don't "know" for sure. So they could bullhead the mud into place and the mud chooses the "path of least resistance" which doesnt stymie the flow.

Do you know who Schwazz's "uncle" is? He seems to be throwing him out there.
