We will be there the five days before you get there...let me know if you need some other suggestions or thoughts on DC...

You aren't getting into lobbying by any chance?

been looking at craigslist for places, ready to sell a kidney for rent... want to live in DC to take advantage of everything. Looking to get as close to foggy bottom as I can or along the blue/orange line like Mt. Vernon sq/Penn Qtr. area

Per my cousin who lives in DC and loves food:

quote:

Close to White House/McPhearson Square, Farragut North (close to the 14th & K address you gave me) - McCormick and Schmicks - Old Ebbitt Grill - DC Coast (don't THINK you need a jacket) - Georgia Brown's (Southern, ostensibly) -

Chinatown: - Matchbox - H street between 7th and 8th - Clyde's - on 7th, between H and G - Burma (dingy dive, but the most authentic burmese food in the city - and good - located on 6th street upstairs from Kanlaya, a good Thai place) - Zaytinya - 8th and G (mediterranean/Turkish meze place - think tapas, small plates - very good) - Poste (pricey, but good - located in the Hotel Monaco) - District Chophouse (steak - great mashed potatoes - and bre their own beer) - Jaleo - 7th and E - my favorite Spanish tapas place - good sangria - La Tasca - antoher tapas place, good, a little less expensive, decent sangria

Dupont Circle: my neighborhood - Le Pain Quotidien - french bistro on P and 20th - Zorba's - Q and 20th - really good greek, very casual, not too expensive - One Lounge - small plates and drinks - fun atmosphere - Sweet Green - Connecticut Ave North of the circle, salads and frozen yogurt - BGR (the Burger Joint) - one of the best burgers ... anywhere Connecticut Ave, between Q St. and the circle, next door to Sweet Green - Bistrot du Coin - casual belgian/french - good mussels, good frites, fantastic quiche - Annie's Paramount Steakhouse - on 17th between Q and R - good steak, for the open-minded -

More as I think about it
