He was a great player, but a horrible counterfeiter. I lost all respect for him when he did that.

He has served his time and given back to society. Forgive and forget.

None of his teammates could ever figure out that mistake. He is such a generous person. He was a big star back then. You young folks will never know how big LSU football became at that time. Maybe Billy is one of those folks that is so smart that he does not need to go by all the rules. He was and is very intelligent.

Billy was a great football player for LSU and deserves all the honors that go with that. I'm happy to see the past is finally behind him and he is being recognized for his playing.

What he did was wrong. He not only served his time, it cost him virtually everything he owned. He's paid a steep price and then some. Unless you were personally affected by it, it's time to forget about the past.

Someone needs to get their facts straight, Billy Cannon did much more than a " Halloween Run" for the Tigers, he played on defense as well, helping out on a goal-line stand in the same game as his historical punt return.

Did he have money problems when he got into the printing business? Didn't he play pro football? Did he need money?
