Friend of mine boils pasta in rootbeer instead of water for extra kick when serving it with a sweet sauce. Anyone ever try this?

yeah, then i top it with emptied out grape pixie stix. It draws on the Italian red wine influence, while nearly giving my sauce enough sweetness.
