I've seen people with blankets spread out near the poles on the concourse directly behind homeplate before and assumed they put them there to sit on. We've always had bleacher seats down one of the baselines so we didn't know for sure. For Saturday's game against Bama (Ben McDonald Day) though, we had SRO tickets and my gf decided to sit on the edge near a pole towards the end of the game (no one was around that area as it was the very last pole under the overhang on the concourse on the third base side) and an usher told her to stand bc sitting was not allowed . Like I said, this wasn't in a walkway or anything. I looked in the fan guide, but I didn't see anything listed about it (designated areas for standing, etc) unless I overlooked it. I guess you have to stand if you pay for standing room only? lol

Fire Marshal says everyone in the exit path has to be standing. Same reason they don't let people sit in the isles.

That I can understand, but like I said, this was in the corner on the 3rd base side near the chairbacks (kinda behind where the camera guys set up, but not even in their way). I guess if you pay to stand you must stand the entire time. That's the only thing me and the guys around me could think of.

Usually, they will allow the SRO tickets to sit in available seats after the 3rd inning, only having to move if the ticket holder comes.

I think the rule for SRO tickets is that you can sit in an empty bleacher seat only if the owner does not show.. A good rule of thumb is after 3 innings. Otherwise you have to stand. Now I always understood that standing anyplace that is not impeding the view of others or a pathway was ok. But mainly just use common sense.

Catmann is wrong. It is after the 6th inning that you can fill the empty seats. At least that is what they told us on Saturday.

There is no written rule.. The unwritten rule has always been 3 innings.. That goes for ticket holders that want to move down the line as well. Hell after the 6th inning dont they still let you in the game for free?

We had a guy sitting a few rows behind us Saturday night that had an entire row to himself and would not let anyone sit there unless they had a ticket. He finally just gave up and let this father and son sit together.

Did he own all the seats? If so then I guess thats his right if he is the owner and present. Although that a bit of an extreme.

I know I go to a few games alone and I have two tickets and I will be damned if I am scrunched up in my seat when I paid for the seat next to me also but left the fiance at home.
