Reliable people repeat moronic rumors just like the rest of us.

I know the answer to this.

Name one donor who would financially stick his neck on the line for LSU. There isn't one. There are rich guys who might talk big but none will write a check. They will only help raise money over time. The people you mentioned that had dinner with Saban have no pull when it's all said and done.

My father in laws boss is good friends with nick saban and when all the miles to Michigan rumors were going around, nick called him to have dinner in Monroe with some of the board members at lsu. Supposedly there was a number and saban was good with it, and the following Tuesday miles held the "I'm staying at lsu" PC

Yea, sure man, everyone knows it's true. So, when they met for dinner, was Jim Morrison or Elvis their waiter?

Threads like this depress the sht out of me.

You'd be naive to think there wasn't at least a phone call when Nick was thinking about leaving the Dolphins. You'd also be naive to think Nick was contacted when Miles-to-Mich was in the air.

Everybody knows somebody who knows somebody, and compared to Nick and Urban every coach in America is a low achiever. It is....(say it with me)...what it is.

Urban isn't the coach Saban is, Saban is a great college coach. He figured out Meyers shite after the first meeting and then totally shut them down and frustrated the frick out of them in the SECCG, you could see the frustration in both Tebow's and Meyers faces who thought for certain they were getting ready to go play for another MNC.

"Take it for what its worth. Which is basically nothing but whatever. "

That about sums up this thread from the start....

Well I know for a fact a couple years ago a football player for pickering high got hurt during a game and he got a chance to meet his idol nick saban. The kid was quoted as saying nick told him that when he left miami he wanted to come back to LSU but we already had les so he chose to go to bama. Take it FWIW but the kid had no reason to lie

While I never thought miles was leaving:

My mother in law's best friend is a real estate agent in BR

when ll this was going on, She showed a house to Saban's wife

she called my mother in law right after this happened, who called me.

now i know that sabans wife was a big fan of baton rouge and liked it here, so i dono if they were just thinking about buying a house here just to have one or what. But my mother in law has no reason to lie, and neither does her friend.

ETA: Im not making any conclusions off of this. just telling yall what happened

That story is pure unadulterated bullshite.

Nick Saban never, never considered returning to LSU. Get over it. He dumped LSU. He is a man of no regrets. His ego won't prmit it. He never intended to stay at LSU. He always saw LSU as just another item on his resume.
All those stories are crap. It's always something like: My uncle's best friend's barber's proctologist is a close friend to a big wheel in the LSU atheltic establishment who told his wife's sister's son's dog groomer. ...............

You people are pathetic. I bet you still believe that the girl that dunped your arse back in the 7th grade secretly has to hots for you today.
