LOL. That place is always good for a laugh. The one thing you have to understand about the LSU-Tulane games is that Tulane REALLY wants to win. They could lose their conference series following the LSU game and they could care less. Priority #1 for them is beating LSU. ESPECIALLY in a season like this where they aren't expecting to make a regional.

This is funny, I was about to go look at the schedule and see who we played this week. Now I know.

"I'll take the loss today to Rice but I want WIN against the tiggers"(from yogwf.com)

Tells me all I need to know about the jealous children downriver. Along with the conspiracy theories, the constant whining, & paranoia embedded in that entire culture of losing in NO!! Anybody with a brain knows its worse to lose a conference game.

Another "genius" said "lets throw a pitcher every inning like Mainairi did to us two years ago."

Seriously, I was at the game two years ago & couldn't remember who Mainairi pitched if my life depended on it; it simply doesn't matter. Further proof of the pathetic desperation of the losers downriver.

I'd rather us beat Alabama this weekend; THAT'S more important to us & the SEC standings.

The worst thing in the world for Tulane is that LSU played like shite this weekend and lost two in a row.

I'd be worried had LSU swept Auburn no problem.

The players are looking to bounce back in a big way I'm sure and tee off on somebody. And who better than Tulane?

LS? FWIW, I'd rather win my conference games than beat LSU. Winning the conference will get us into a regional, winning 1 meaningless midweek game(rantards words) gets us nothing.

Ok if LSU really does not care about the Tulane game, then why in 2008 when LSU made there first CWS appearance with Maineri did they start Ryan Verdugo and then in relief they used Louis Coleman. Now, if you recall Ryan Verdugo pitched in the CWS opening game in 2008 and we all know how good Louis Coleman is.

Also, Tulane does not have a conference series next weekend. They play UNLV in a non-conference series. I guarantee that beating LSU on a wednesday will do much more for RPI and possibly getting Tulane into a regional than beating UNLV will do for them.

Mid-week games are not as important as conference games, but they are as important as any non-confernce games whether its midweek or weekend.

None. They're barely averaging 2,000 in their refurbished ballpark.

Coleman was a midweek guy until the end of 2008, where he really came on strong and started to dominate

I can't really remember the game though, which just helps prove the point that we really don't give a shite. I'd rather beat ULL than Tulane every year

Just because you cant remember something does not hold much water for your argument. Maybe you didnt care, but Maineri obviously thought it was an important enough game to pitch Verdugo and Coleman.

And Coleman was 8-1 with a 1.95 era, that doesn't sound too much like coming on towards the end of the year to me. Sounds like a flat out dominant season.

In case you wanted to gauge what the YOGWF Tulane fans are like then here ya go. I took these ACTUAL COMMENTS off the YOGFW.

1. I would take Bob Toledo over Urban Meyer any day of the week. Toledo never would have lost to Ole Miss with Florida's talent. Meyer may have won the national title but he shouldn't have even had a loss. Toledo is a much better coach.
2. Recruiting rankings are meaningless (this is in response to it being brought up that Toledo has reeled in ALL last place recruiting classes in CUSA since he has been at Tulane). LSU and all of the big state schools get points for name recognition. LSU's classes rank well ahead of ours and we had them all but beat in 2007. Our 2 star center pancaked 5 star Dorsey at will.
3. You can't say there are 10 better baseball programs than ours. We're upper BCS by baseball standards.
4. LSU winning the CWS just shows how down of a year it was for college baseball. Arkansas had stats that would indicate that they didn't even belong in the CWS (the poster fails to mention that Baylor eliminated Tulane in 2005. Baylor hit less and pitched worse than the Arkansas team that made it last year). Once again LSU feasts on watered down competition. The NCAA also gave them the easiest possible route to a title.
5. Look at LSU. They won the CWS and weren't much different from our club. Take Louis Coleman out of their rotation and put him on our team and we are hoisting the trophy.
6. Less Smiles doesn't want to schedule Tulane anymore because he sees that we are clearly trending upward. A parent of a football player told me that Nick Saban told our team that they were the most physical team the Tide faced in 2008.

The fact that it was against Tulane wasn't why PM thought it was an important game. LSU was 23-16 at that time and EVERY game from then on out was very important. It had nothing to do with it being against Tulane. And Coleman was a reliever for ALL of 2008 which is why he pitched IN RELIEF in that game.

There will be plenty show up. Tulane is my second favorite team to LSU in all college sports. Just remeber this, any game that isn't an NCAA sanctioned game at Turchin serves beer. Ergo, Turchin>> than the Box.
