I tend to agree with the "who gives a shite" opinion....

but... the low shoooting percentage does has something to do with defense --- which is one thing that they do have in womens basketball....

and ... it's ironic that so many LSU fans think in terms of Football and baseball...... MOST of the country couldn't care less about college BASEBALL.... and I venture to say that if Skip Bertman had never come to LSU's campus --- LSU fans wouldn't give a crap about college baseball either.

My point... hell I don't even know ... just some interesting observations, I guess.

I DID take an interest in LSU women's baskball during the days when we were really good .... and it would have been nice to have won the championship... but just because we were good didn't mean that UConn and UTenn and Baylor were not just a little better in those games... shite happens.

As an example -- I'd rather go to Atlanta (for SEC football championship) and lose than to have not gone at all

They can ask the Stanford baseball team what its like not to win a title.

I don't think it's a swipe at LSU. It did suck to go to Final Fours and not win the title. That was frustrating as all hell.

Women's basketball hates LSU.

Repeal Title IX.

FIFY
They were missing wide open lay-ups, Uncontested jump shots, and free throws. Defense has nothing to do with that. They ALL choked in the first half. Even Moore was 0-8 to start the game.
Just plain awful game.

When the two best teams meet in the national championship game and the game is painful to watch...

+1 I feel bad cause espn is trying to get womens basketball more exposure but watching shite like that isnt going to help anything. Id rather watch a pick up game than that.

yep he was and with 1 team Sylvia fowles last year. Since then LSU hadn't got close to a final four and he's yet to even recruit a top 5 class. He does have a 6'6 and a 6'4 girl coming in but with Granger 6'8 at Baylor I think they'll be the team to beat the next 2 years

Tennessee we had a tie game and temeka johnson threw the ball away and Tennessee made a layup to win. I think UConn won the title that year.

Baylor we had a big lead and let them come back and win. baylor won the title.

Duke and Rutgers we shot terrible and got blown out. I think Duke lost to Maryland and Rutgers lost to Tennessee.

We were beating Tennessee and they let Candace Parker dribble the entire length of the court, put up a shot and then let the PG put the putback in for a layup. Tennessee went on to win the title against Stanford.

I never liked Van, other than he can recruit, but can't coach worth a lick. We need shooters. Our d is fine.

Sounds like he was winning with Pokie's players. Oops, didn't mean to turn this into a Miles thread.

...if UConn shoots more than 30% from free throw line down the stretch, which included several 0-2s , and Stanford doesn't luck out on some 35 ft 3pt "shot clock heaves" in final 2 minutes, UConn wins by 15, easy, instead of 6.... not to mention Huskies put up 41 points in 2nd half..... Stanford was simply beneficiary of "worst 1st half ever - lowest point total ever" from sleep-walking UConn in first half......and, as we saw - it didn't last. Stanford was never a real threat in 2nd half. Simple as that.....

You're right. They had every chance in the first half to put the game away. They could have easily been up by 26 at half and sealed the game before UConn ever woke up. BUT... they didn't, and wasted the best chance anyone has had at beating Uconn in over two years.

Funny things is we beat Stanford and put them out of the tournament a few years ago.

Reading this thread, I'm not sure if you guys even realize women's basketball is more popular than your beloved baseball?

Really? When did the WNBA surpass MLB?

It didn't...and won't. The reference was to college sports, and that reference happens to be accurate. On a national level, women's college basketball is much more popular than college baseball.
