Washington by far! He is only one of the top 5 qb's in the NFL in the past 10 yrs.

He is real good and Philly is dumb for this.

All he did was get to 5 or 7 NFC championship games and SUper Bowl!!

I guarantee you Kolb doesn't EVER get Philly even sniffing the NFC Championship this year.

I think the skins did. I know Mcnabb is old but he is definitely worth a 2 and 3/4 round pick in separate years.

Philthy

McNabb is going to be entering his 12th year in the league and must now get used to a new system with new and even crappier WRs.

why the hell you deal your greatest QB ever to a division rival? doesn't make sense

Most of this is completely irrelevant.

Last year he was a top 10-12 QB, not top 5 and they didn't sniff the NFC CG after a complete meltdown in their last 2 games.

......unless you know/have a really good feeling about how little he has left in the tank.

I think they dealt him to washington rather than oakland out of respect for what he's done... plus a 2nd round pick near the top of the round is probably as good or better than the other offers (esp when it will be sweetened by a 3rd or 4th rounder)

yep, reid knows the team best and he sees mcnabbs skills diminishing. might as well trade him now and get something for him. he really faded at the end of the year.

This, and who Philly gets at #37.

But I'd say right now Philly got the better deal. McNabb is on the tail end of his career and won't match his production from 5 years ago again.

Not to mention the dude didn't know a NFL game could end in a tie.

Philly. They weren't going to make a serious effort to resign McNabb after this season anyway, if any effort at all. So they dealt him while they still had a chance to get something for him. Best case scenario they get a good young player out of it that becomes a starter for them for the next 8 or 9 years.

Yup, reminds me of the Indians/CC Sabathia trade two years ago. Its better to deal a guy with one year left you know you aren't going to resign and get something for him than letting him walk at the end of the year.

philadelphia imo.......think reid knows what he is giving away, regardless of how good kolb will be, and with how well they draft generally he may have just picked up two future starters.

to the poster who said he will have to learn a new system.........doesn't shanahan and reid both run a west coast offense???

I think there are a hundred different types of west coast offenses tho

philly's offense has run largely through McNabb... and their running game has been fairly poor... Shannahan is pretty committed to the run based on his Denver years... so I expect there will be some adjustment but McNabb will be fine in spite of it

there are but from what I have heard it isn't that big of a deal to switch, some different terminology and other plays obviously but for a qb like mcnabb it shouldnt' be that big of a deal. They will be running the ball a lot in washington as well.

didn't ever run it that much in philly... I think it's a different system but McNabb will be able to make the switch

no problem imo

No matter, washington now has a qb that is better than JC and philly just made out like a bandit.

I wonder what shanahan is really thinking?

Does not matter because

Shannahan will cater the terimonology to fit McNab. The plays dont change much, just the names of them.
