Your scariest movie ever pick?

I'm looking for a good horror flick and I want the best.
For those of you who are going to give me a Japanese pick or something difficult to find in a regular store, maybe provide a pick that could be easier to find along with it. I do realize there's Amazon and Netflix, though.
So...what ya got?

The Exorcist is the only movie that I can say is truly terrifying.

Seen it...and yes, it's up there...but I wanna see a flick I haven't watched yet.
I heard that Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects" was, but the guy who told me that has horrible movie taste and cannot watch classics or anything with a plot that cannot be understood unless Sean William Scott is involved. But...he did make a helluva case for it. Worth it? Scary? Stupid?

People tend to love or hate this one, but I personally enjoyed Jeepers Creepers.
After that, the first Saw is pretty good (don't bother with the rest)
The Hills have Eyes
The Descent
The Mist
Dawn of the Dead
Just to name a few.

I found The Exorcist amusing. Good movie, but not frightening. But then again, I don't fear demonic possession.
Jesus Camp gets my vote.

I've seen it and wasn't into it, but I'm not really into Rob Zombie's type of horror genre. It was EXTREMELY gory, I'll give it that, but all the blood and gore just started to become mind numbing and I felt like I was just waiting for the movie to be over.

The Amityville Horror. Only watch the orginal though. Don't watch any of the terrible remakes, especially the one with ryan reynolds.

A Nightmare on Elm Street
The Ring
Silent Hill
Event Horizon
Devil's Rejects isn't as much scary as it is fricked up. House of 1000 Corpses is a pretty scary film. It is a little out there but the final 20 minutes is some seriously creepy shite. I'd put it up there with the 4 I just listed. I still remember seeing a preview for it though before seeing House on Haunted Hill but they put off releasing House of 1000 Corpses for a little while. I'm sure that movie was meant to be more fricked up but nobody will ever see it.
Hah holy shite never had bothered to look for that trailer but I just found it on youtube.

I remember thinking wtf did I just see?

watch FIRE IN THE SKY (based on a true story) then watch the special feature interviews with the real guy who was abducted. Terrifying. I had nightmares for a week after seeing it.

These 2 seem to be the only ones I haven't seen out of others. I agree with The Ring and Event Horizon.
Nightmare On Elm Street scared the frick outta me....when I was 8.

Yes it was. That scene was definitely the most scary...and the very beginning.
