what was the injury that kept him out all of last season?

would be a solid pickup if he's healthy.

health has been our issue at DT.

Torn triceps I think, which isn't good, but it's better than leg/knee/back injuries, IMO.

Beast when healthy, although he is getting up there in age (33)

PFF's metrics had him as the 3rd best DT/NT in the NFL in 2008.

dude has been a staple in san diego's defense for 10 years. He's very disruptive and eats up a shite ton of blockers. He has had his fair share if injuries and missed all of last season...but was coming off a great season in 2008.

age and injury are an issue, but since we are the SB44 champs I bet we could sign him for a cheap one year deal.

what about Leonard Little? I was just reading up on him and he had a decent season this year but he is 35 years old.

Looks like Denver is going after Williams hard, and he's there for a physical.

I would not mind Williams as all we need from our DT at this point is a huge plugger. At DE however I would rather draft someone than sign Little.

Signing Little will have pretty much no impact on the draft. It may stop them from drafting one in the 5th or 6th round, but they'll draft one with one of their first two picks regardless.

we should sign Williams and Little and trade Williams to Denver for their 1st round pick and trade Little to Jax for their 3rd round pick

If we're lucky we can turn that draft pick into a solid vet like Kampman.

Williams would be a good addition. He'd be especially valuable against the run.

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that free agent NT Jamal Williams is already in Denver on Monday to take a physical.

Heading to us later in week. May not make it out of Denver according to Roto. FWIW.

Didn't see above.

One thing to remember. The Saints can only sign one UFA since Fujita left for Cleveland. The Saints can, of course, sign any street free agents (players cut by their team) that they want. I don't know which catagory Williams or Little fit into, but the Saints need to be very wise in selecting a UFA to sign as they only get one shot. I have no doubt they will make a good selection.

Little and Williams were both cut, so they are UFAs and don't fall under the final four rule.
