You would get the same answers in some northern states about hockey. They would rather win NCAA hockey than basketball.

To be the same thing I think you'd have to ask a similar question of fans of the most dominant college hockey program in the country

I'm guessing that if you're talking to fans of a middling program with one championship in baseball or hockey they would happily trade that for a basketball championship... it's just a more prominent sport

to change the equation there has to be a culture of success and fan support for the other sport... like lsu baseball

None. I dont think you understand how minor LSU basketball is to LSU baseball.

Look... there is no correct answer. If you prefer LSU baseball to LSU basketball more power to you. But if you think that college baseball is anywhere close to basketball in exposure, popularity, or prestige you're delusional. College baseball rates behind women's basketball.

What would we do with this exposure, popularity, and prestige? I think LSU is on the map already. We just went to five straight final fours in a sport with more prestige than baseball. How did that raise the tide of LSU athletics?

I might be in the Tigers Cage by myself, but I get an equal euforia when watching my Tigers win at baseball, football, and basketball. The rush of March Madness when LSU made that run to the Final Four in 2006 was incredible. Time slowed down that March. If we had finished first in those last two games, I guarantee I would have felt the same excitement as I did for the football team's 2003&2007 NC. As for all the baseball championships, my June's have never been the same since 1991.

No matter the sport, I wear my LSU passion on my sleeve, and I stand on the edge of my seat.

The ratings for last year's LSU-Texas championship series were the highest rated games ever for the CWS.

Which I am sure was still less than the opening round number of any region in the NCAA basketball tournament.

I'm a baseball nut and know that there is more TV money in Baseketball then baseball...But baseball I believe is more important in the south. (just my opinoin) I agree a few years ago when we were in the final four it was great. Lots of money was brought it but our region is stronger geared towards baseball then hoops...basketball is really geared in the midwest and east.

Put me down for one...

Regardless of the money brought in, "earning it", etc...just for the sake that a major LSU sport won a National Championship to go along with football and baseball would be awesome. I love and watch all three sports every chance I get.
