How highly regarded was Zach Lee?

His offer list is good but not great and he is was a 5.8, four star on rivals.
I know he committed early and has always been considered a baseball risk, which I assume affected his hype and ranking.
Had he waited until after his senior year to commit and didn't have baseball hanging out there would he have been considered elite?

According to some people here, he was rated lower than he should have due to him being an MLB prospect. Don't know exactly how high he would have been, but they say he's better than what his ratings say.

Not that it means much but to me personally he has as much upside as any QB in the country from the last class. No real homerun type guys in the class that you can say is definitely going to be a star. The closest is probably Heaps but that's because of the system he will be playing in.Lee was vastly underrated because he commited early and didn't make the camp rounds to improve his profile.

About the same as Jarrett Lee coming out of high school.

Yep people forget Jarret Lee was an elite 11 Qb coming out of HS

A 6'4 Texas QB with 31 TDs and only 6 ints, who has a cannon throwing in the mid 90s... I'd say he is definitely elite. I want to get very excited about him, but fear of the draft has that tempered with caution

Top 5 QB in the US last year. Have you seen his film -- a big, bonefied gunslinger.

if he enrolls at lsu, he should have plenty of time to concentrate on baseball.considering it could be 3 or 4 years after graduating hs before miles considers him as a potential starter. red shirt year to bulk up, rsfreshsman year to "learn the system", backup 1 or 2 more years waiting for an upper classman to graduate. baseball playing time immediately in baseball at lsu a strong possibility, playing time immediately in the minors a sure thing. 4th or 5th year football playing time ? well, i didn't consider the fact spike may not be aroung long enough to put his mark on the development of mr lee. however, the situation could change with a new coaching philosophy . ala new head coach

Didn't JJ start 4 or 5 games as a true FR?

similar hype to jamie howard coming out of high school
good football hype, but tons on baseball side

JJ started because RP got kicked off the team, Hatch went down with injury, and J. Lee was throwing the ball to the other team.
If JJ gets hurt, J. Lee still throws the ball to the other team, Garrett gets hurt chasing his dog down some stairs, and Les still doesn't realize that Shepard might actually be able to throw the ball,....... THEN I could see Zach Lee playing this year.
Other than all of that happening, no.

You forgot BR's Barrett Bailey. 3 star dual threat walk on rated #28 in the USA.

Didn't realize he was a quarter Japanese. Has LSU had any other Asian football players? None come to mind.
