I figured since Drew Brees is going to eventually be out for the season due to the Madden Curse we better bring him back to NO...

I'd take Jake over Brunell.

pretty big bite by the cats, he still gets $12.5mil from them.

He just turned 35. With everything he's been through career-wise I could see him want to stay close to home and hold the clipboard (remember those days?)for 2-3 years. Maybe pick up a SB winners ring in the process. With 12.5mil still due he could play for vet minimum.

I wouldn't mind Delhomme if he was on the cheap. I'm thinking a team like St. Louis or Detroit will try to sign him as a stop gap while they develop their young QB.

I was just thinking all those saints fans that whined for years about him can finally have him now as the starting QB. Why not?

All long as we get rid of Brunell, I'll take anyone. Funny thing about Delhomme is he still has potential to step-in and win (if our stud QB get injured)

Plus, he'll have valuable insight for when we play the Panthers twice a year.

This could be the thread of the week!!---mixed emotions about Jakes performance of late..just in a slump?..bad luck?..mojo?..hard to say but one thing is for sure....Brunell--{god love him} needs to go. we need a backup that can come in and win ball games should Drew get hurt. i certainly would feel o.k. with Jake as a backup.but should we go this route over developing a young talented rookie?..tough call. im interested to hear other opinions. personally i dont think Jakes demise has relegated him to a back-up position...yet? what ya"ll think?

i agree with "suntiger"--if we can get him on the cheap...but are Jakes days as a starter really over?

Yes, unless Al Davis calls. I'm not sure he could learn the 4,321 page play book of the Saints offense better than ol Brunell before camp.

Dammit! Brees is on the Madden cover? Not surprized, but damn that curse. Yeah, being Jake back to his old role.

If I was the St. Louis Rams I would sign him today and draft a QB with my second pick. Colt McCoy and Dan LeFevor should be available. Let Jake play a year or two and then let him go after that and let my young QB take over. A la Kurt Warner/Eli Manning, Jon Kitna/Carson Palmer, Jon Kitna/Matt Hasselbeck.

That was like 6 fricking years ago. Using that logic, I guess we should go after Trent Dilfer too. Hey Rex Grossman lead the Bears to a super bowl, how about bringing him in too.

Jake is a terrible QB at this point in his career. A 59 QB rating when you have one of the best running games in the NFL and Steve Smith. That's fricking pathetic.
