Are they kidding? This was from SF Examiner.

"If the 49ers are focused on drafting a player solely as a return specialist, LSU's Trindon Holliday is their choice. Listed as a special teams player, Holliday ran 4.34 and could be still available in the second or third round."

I expect him to be "available" in the 5,6, or 7th week.

First, Trindon will be available late in day 2.

Second, if the 49ers actually are looking to draft a return guy in the 2nd/3rd round with all the other holes they have, they are in much bigger trouble than we thought.

Not to be an asshat, but late in "day 2" this year means he will be drafted before round 4.

Rd. 1: Thurs., April 22, 7:30 p.m. ET
Rds. 2-3: Fri., April 23, 6:30 ET
Rds. 4-7: Sat., April 24, 10 a.m. ET

I have no idea what the hell the Examiner is thinking (apparently they aren't).

We need a returner bad, and Gore needs a complement. If Spiller is there at 13, he's ours. Imagine that tandem. Gore's power and Spiller's elusiveness. He immediately fills 2 needs to the fullest.

Scotty Mac has had some pretty good drafts of late. Our needs are pretty obvious. He tends to shy away from specialists, so I'd be shocked if we even considered drafting someone like TH.

But TH before the 7th? Not happening. Probably not happening in any round.

One name gives TH hope to get drafted: Devin Hester. He changed the mindset on the little fast guys. Someone will take a chance on him before the draft is over. He combine showing was unreal. He impressed a lot of scouts. Heck, the raiders may draft him in round 2 or 3. They go for freak athletes, and TH is one of those. It is freaky to be able to run that fast with legs that are that short.

I don't think the 40 time is as telling how good a KR is as a 100 time and we all know TH is elite in that regard. who know but not that high

Devin Hester isn't little but in fact fairly average size wise and he's Goliath compared to Trindon.

That "newspaper" is shite! Pretty worthless, although occasionally I grab it from the stand or the Latino gentleman who hands them out outside of my train stop.

Coffee not working out? I know he's not a true compliment to Gore, but I know some 49er fans who were pleased with him last pre-season.

The fact that we had to use Chad jones in order to be sure that punts were fielded cleanly is a dealbreaker for trindon

if he couldn't be relied on to catch the ball in the SEC, do you really think he will be trusted to field them in the NFL where each pos. Is critical?

He had a pretty good preseason.

It's too early to write him off but Spiller is too enticing. Coffee has issues finding and hitting holes. Coffee might actually be more an heir to Gore. Spiller would be the lightning to Gore/Coffee's thunder.

Realistically Frank doesn't have many good years yet, so I'm hoping Coffee can take his power running role.
