about 98% for in state recruits and 75-80% for out of state commitments according to my analysis.

Like everyone has said for our instate guys it pretty much locks them up. There will be a few days where we get a little worried, but that's part of it. Out of state.....not much.

That sounds very acurate over the time that I have followed recruiting...at least for LSU's program. I don't follow any others closely so I would not know if the same holds true. You would think that it would for the major programs.

Honestly, the way kids switch commits these days I don't like to put stock in them at all. It's great that we get their commitment and for the vast majority of the time we keep them, but high profile guys are the guys to keep the eye on. The underrated and lower ranked guys are not usually going to decommit unless they see us pickup some very good players at their position. Since almost every player we are going after this year is high priority and very good, I'm gonna sweat this year out!

Well with Randle being a big time LB from Texas im a little worried...but in his latest TB article he did state that the process is over, no more visits, no one can top the tigers

It depends onthe the player. Someone like Hilliard and Collins who bleed purple and gold. Don't really waver much. OOS recruits like Marsh who don't know what they want. There is nothing we can do in that situationm

Since about 90% of our early recruits actually signed with us last year, I would say about 90% done.

Commits early on usually always stick because these type of guys know what they want.

I don't like getting big time commimments 1 month before signing day etc........these type of guys are usually the attention seekers/indecisive guys who make the switches.

If Crowton continues his slide I am very interested to see how someone like Landry will feel about that. There are also the running backs to consider as well. It is going to be interesting to see if Crowton may have an effect if he has a similar year. Time will tell. Hopefully GC can improve but we shall see.

SOCAL, what about rs? He committed early in the process and stayed, oh and what about spencer ware? For every mike davis there are about 4 or 5 other guys that committed early and stuck with it. Like someone else has already said, even with those guys, we still had 90% of our guys that committed early stick with us. I would say that is awesome, and considering the year that we just had, it really is a great job by our coaching staff to keep it that way

If most of our guys were OOS then i'd be a little uneasy but not with instate kids. Some of them will look around and cause angst among us but they wouldn't have commited if they weren't serious about staying at LSU.Of course there are always exceptions but in LA we get the kids we want.

I think Marsh knew what he wanted, and that was to be a Tiger. Mama just won out in the end

Impossible to tell. It's different for every single kid. No 2 recruits are created alike.

What is encouraging is the trend where guys feel like part of something and enjoy recruiting other guys to be a part of that same something. I think there is a big level of camaraderie with the guys who are there early and it's contagious. Other guys see that and want to be a part of it. I think it's a good thing, and will work to our advantage.
