What's the take on this movie here? I saw it last night actually for the fist time.

At the beginning, I thought it might have been one of the "good" Costerner movies (along with Bull Durahm, Field of Dreams and Dances with Wolves). But as it went on the quality seemed to go down - both plot-wise and Costner acting wise.

What do you guys think?

no one really regards tin cup as in the same ballpark as those other movies

its a good movie if you are a golfer and nothing else is on

Movie had great potential but his character never really became likeable.

I love comedies, play golf, and haven't seen it. Is it worth going to the store and paying money to rent? I know yall don't know me personally so it's impossible to know if I'll like it, but is it "rent-worthy", or should I just catch it on TBS sometime?

It was on versus last night if you get that. I don't know if they play movies on a rotation like AMC, etc. but if they do you can probably catch it on there.

I don't think I'd pay to rent it.

Its an ok movie and if you play golf you may be slightly more interested.

The stupid crap about him taking a 14 on the 18th hole of the US Open is total crap and not even in the realm of believability.

He was in pure Costner mode in that one. Kind of like Tom Cruise gets in Cruise mode. Not goode.

I like Costner too. The correct wording is "not a lot of people on this board like Kevin Costner"

That would be crap but since he made a 12 it makes it more believable!

I know. I did not like th e movie or the point to the movie. His whole character was based on stupidity and a stupid idea. Renee Russo would not have stayed long with a range pro.

The whole not laying up thing was just dumb.

Was the whole point to the movie that he was an idiot?

One of my all time favorites.
