best show that flew under the radar.
Showtime series for 2 seasons a few years ago.

The Wire
Posted by OhioStateofMind on 2/3/11 at 9:32 pm
somebody in another thread said Dexter approached being as good as the Wire.
I have seen a LOT of tv series and think Dexter is as good as any, but I have not seen the wire.
What is The Wire and do most others agree it's as good as Dexter?

re: First Game I should buy for PS3?

definitely the god of war collection... I never played these on ps2.
as an avid gamer, i can honestly say that even the ps2 games gow 1 and 2 remastered on ps3 are 2 of the best games i have ever played.
god of war is a must if you own ps3.

re: anyone mind explaining the game Dead Space to me

Another cool thing is they have a ton of comics and animated shorts on xbox live you can download for free that expand on the story line, which is actually pretty darn good.
AND they made a full length 90 minute animated movie (which I bought at best buy) and this movie and the stuff on xbox live all piece together with the video game to make one big story.
then for some reason they put the sequel on the Wii??? wtf??? I actually considered buying a Wii to play it.

buy this game. buy it now.
one of the best 360 games I've played. it drips with atmosphere and will definitely have you jumping.
this is the ALIENS games that should have but was never made.

Why do people pre order at Gamestop?

I have never, ever had an issue with buying a game I want on release date at wal mart, best buy or any other store?
I don't get it.

NFS reveal is going to be really a game that will blow Froza away. I recommend it to anyone.
I seriously, seriously doubt this.
need for speed shift was pretty darn impressive, but still didn't match forza.

mainly spose to be a story about how war can mentally drain people, you probably will notice that near the end of their shift they are having mental and emotional break downs becuase of war they are fighting.
I disagree completely... I was in Iraq and I connected with the movie. the movie was about the addiction to the adrenaline, of becoming addicted to the unpredictability of daily life and living each moment on the edge. this is why at the end of the movie he told his baby to cherish life when you are young, because as he got older he only really had one passion.. EOD. and that's why I think he went back.
that's how I felt when I came back in 2004 and I still have the same feelings today. There are many, many vets who even tho they may have had bad experiences, "miss it" badly.
this movie was fantastic, even tho a couple scenes were not exactly realistic. I'm glad it won.
any other vets here have an opinion on the movie?

my other buddies who play told me I will get destroyed on multiplayer... I assume I will for a while until I catch up.
i just beat the game on veteran, now on to spec ops. for some reason I really want to get every single achievement for this game.

My first MW2 post
Posted by OhioStateofMind on 3/6/10 at 12:53 am
ok so I've played every call of duty since 2 except world at war and beat every one on veteran.
I just started MW2 and have finished every board but the last three on veteran and in my opinion this was the easiest COD yet on veteran difficulty.
I remember epic challenges that took weeks to beat games like 007 on N64... comparing 007 to veteran difficulty on MW2 is a large difference.
Is it just me that thinks it's too easy? or have our skills just improved over the years to where our skills are hard to beat?
also, as a side note i have not yet played special ops or multiplayer. waiting to beat campaign on veteran.
thoughts?

I'd have to say Braveheart or possibly Rudy... both endings still move me even tho i've seen them 1000 times each.
i'd give the edge to braveheart.

re: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

I thought Benjamin Button verged on horrible. it was extremely boring.. novel idea, but they could have written a better script.
slumdog millionaire was way overrated as well.. it was decent but certainly not best picture material.
btw my pick for best picture last year was The Wrestler.. and Mickey Rourke probably should have won best actor.

re: Worse: Micheal Bay or Tim Burton
Posted by OhioStateofMind on 2/19/10 at 10:54 pm to Glacierbengal
IMO Burton is one of the best directors of this era.
nightmare before christmas was one of the best movies ever made and I liked most of his other films as well.
Burton uses his imagination and watching his movies is like watching a lucid dream.
michael bay just blows shite up.

2. Heath Ledger's The Joker
3. The guy from Inglorious Basterd's Hans Landa

who plays this?
I'm just about done with Half life 2 - awesome by the way - and checked out Team Fortress 2 for a few minutes tonight.. first impressions were it is a welcome change to the traditional online FPS multiplayer!
I've still got to finish HL2, HL2 episode 1,2 and Portal. best $20 ever!
