I don't think I agree with a single one of these.

I'd throw out:

Two Towers > Fellowship
Empire >> Star Wars

Have you lost your damn mind? I thought you hated Kate Capshaw in this film as much as I did, and quite frankly she ruined the whole movie for me.

3 Definitely, but 2.... Just horrible. It goes way over the top. I love it when Ethan blows open a door down in a basement and when he passes through the roaring flames, a dove flies over. Jesus Christ himself would not resort to such over the top symbolism.

Although in its defense, MI1 isn't that good of a movie either.

I agree with Empire, but I still think that Fellowship was easily the best of the trilogy. As for other sequels:

Internal Affairs 2 > Internal Affairs
Dawn of the Dead > Night of the Living Dead
Evil Dead 2 > Evil Dead
Aliens > Alien

Most installments that follow the first film in a trilogy.

The reason being that the first film is often weighed down by the writer's need to exposit a lot of information and create a biosphere for the rest of the story to develop. A New Hope and Fellowship of the Ring both suffered from this. It's unavoidable, though.

Was going to post this. Those movies are the shite.

Raimi needs to make more Horror/cult following type movies.

ha, I do. But still I didn't let that annoying broad ruin it for me. I started a thread on The Temple of Doom a couple weeks and and surprisingly quite a few posters said it was their favorite.
