He truly does, it really makes it so much better listening to Hawthorne because of this, most times I'll mute the tv andisten to Hawthorne no matter whether it's football baseball of basketball, guy feels what we feel as true fans

Voice of the Tigers much better than espn or cbs crews. The ones who don't like JH prob don't know who Ferguson was.
I work overseas and subscribe to lsusports.net audio. It's almost like being home listening on the radio. Well, kinda.

Radio is so different than TV. I wish Hawthorne would limit himself to Basketball, where I think he is ok.
Doug Moreau is about as boring as you can get in football, but if he wasn't there, we would be lost on how much to a first, who ran the last ball, who caught the pass, how much was gained, because Hawthorne gets so mixed up.
Yeah, Hawthorne is a homer, but if that were the only qualification, I would be the radio guy. His voice is not nearly as good as Ferguson, but Ferguson was boring. Hawthorne when LSU is behind makes me depressed.
I listen to radio to get the details of what is happening. Whether you like Jordy or not, he keeps us up to date on the sideline. That is the advantage of radio.
I say lets throw a retirement party for Hawthorne and let him handle basketball only. If hear "plated another run" in baseball again, I may throw up.

With a planet of 6 billion people, it is not hard to find SOMEONE who is worse than Hawthorne.

I love Hawthorne for football. He is very good in that realm.
They should just turn the baseball calls over to Hannigriff right now. He's better at it, he's more prepared and he doesn't make you think a popfly to the second basement might be a deep one.
They need to give basketball to someone else as well. I vote for Jordy. I am not sure why every doesn't like him. I think he is excellent and he is diehard purple and gold. He's smart, well spoken and very educated in basketball.

jim hawthorne is NOT GOOD. Nasal voice, bad attitude, superiority complex, walks on co-workeres. DOES NOT RECOGNIZE player numbers.
John Ferguson was much better and easier on the ears.

Jim has been there for as long as I can remember. He makes his mistakes but he LOVES LSU and adds color every time he calls a game. I quite enjoy his and Hanagriff's baseball commentary.
He is the voice of the Tigers.
