The problem is they've spent way too much time on advancing plot lately (Dunder Mifflin's troubles and subsequent buyout), and less time on what made the show in the first place: mundane, everyday office life.
They obviously got Jim and Pam together too quickly (see "Moonlighting" and many others), and the pregnancy thing just makes no sense. Now, they're trying to compensate with Andy and Erin.
Plus, the squandered a good opportunity tonight with Michael and Jim switching places. Rather than drawing that out for a few episodes, it lasted all of ten minutes.
It's almost as if the writers don't know what they're doing anymore.

stay IN the office and focus on the everyday ridiculousness and develop the humor of the core characters.

Yeah I was excited to see Michael as a "normal" salesman, but they only went with it for a few minutes.
They should have left Jim as manager for a few episodes.

"Take out your suckit and suck it was pretty funny"
I thought that was going to make this season awesome, then they switched back.
