Why did he ever leave LSU? He obviously still has what it takes. Why did he leave a winning school?

Facilities played a big part after football got everything, baseball and softball got new digs.

Meanwhile the indoor facility is a joke!

So why doesnt LSU pay to keep the champions in the family, why waste money on your basketball?

because in the grand scheme of things, track really doesn't matter.

Bertman low-balled him on his contract and backed off of promoting serious facility upgrades. Ridiculous given Pat's record of accomplishments.

because investing money in a college track program is essentially throwing money down a well

we all know A&M is good at this

Dont forget that track brings in football players. It might be worth it to spend an extra 50k a year on pat henry, and upgrade your facilities while your at it. Or you can just pay your football coach 2 million dollars.

I am glad not all colleges have that viewpoint. I hate to think what would happen to the olympics if every college LScrewed those athletes. If you dont play a sport we like F OFF!

how were they screwed

a&m offered henry more money and he took it. it was a simple business decision

it's not about liking a sport or not. it's more about how much money it costs to run a team versus the revenue they generate

Pretty much. LSU does to track athletes, what america did to soccer. Put not money into it and now we suck compared to everyone else. I hope more colleges dont follow that.

its obvious that aggiereb's intentions with this thread was to brag that they stole pat henry from us. Yep, it really matters over here.
