Just reaching for something to discuss on the RB tonight
No "State Pride" angle?

Did Pittsburgh's Championship help Penn State or Pitt?
Giant's Championship help Rutgers or Syracuse?
They don't affect each other, other than that college creates future NFL stars.

Well,It can't hurt to say they play down the road. The Saints give the state huge credibility, and hopefully, the in-state guys some homerism. Still think recruits will go where they feel at home, though!

Well, I think the biggest thing is who played in the super bowl.... Addai, Gay, Henderson. Thats how you recruit the super bowl.

It might bring more exposure to Louisiana

There wouldn't be a direct correlation but having a few tigers on the big stage wouldn't hurt for sure.
What would help is if Sean Payton said that Miles recommends LSU players and Sean takes those recommendations seriously and gives them due consideration.

Positive, the state of LA is getting good publicity. How can you deny that,

Addai, Henderson, and Gay, had good games. It certainly wouldn't hurt if the recruiting staff drop a reference.

It's a wash. Yes - positive news for State but that's about it.
If you've ever been in the Lawton center, a highly influential recruiting tool is the wall of NFL helmets with names of LSU players that have played for each team. The "body of work" of LSU players in NFL is far more positive than anything the Saints did or will ever do.

True.
The Saints Super Bowl win creates a lot of revenue and publicity within the state and thus makes Louisiana a more desirable place to live. Also, there were (3) former LSU players that each made significant contributions in last night's game, and the key defensive play in the game was made by a native.
One more thing, I think anyone watching and listening to the game saw and heard what passionate fans the Saints have - these fans' behavior is indicative of the behavior of sports fans in Louisiana, in general, and they're undoubtedly ideal to play and win for.

It does help.
Final play was New Orleans native Manning to New Orleans native Wayne, intercepted by Port Allen native Porter. None went to LSU but it was a different era. Now our best players stay in-state
(well, except for Mcknight and Reed).

At least McKnight was HIGHLY overrated...as for Reed, we'll see - I expect the state to have 7-8 prospects that are more promising than Trovon was in our 2011 class.
