College Basketball is in sad sad shape. LSU shouldn't be within 20 points of a top 20 team the way they play.

Tennessee's ineptness goes far deeper than a near defeat at the hands of LSU (see Georgia game).

Talking to some UT fans this morning, you'd think they'd lost the game last night.

Being fair to them, they don't seem to think they are #14 in the country either.

Theyve lost a few players too, and college bball doesn't really have to many great teams this year, outside of kentucky, kansas, and maybe nova there isnt really that many teams that are that unbeatable

The SEC is horrific in basketball this year, but they have to have someone ranked decent.

No it's not..maybe last year...but it's not horrific this year.

And last night was a perfect set up for Tenn to lose...hard to get up for a winless conference team on the road...was a miserable day outside.

Was first time all year the PMAC has had any life in it though...last night was the most fun i've had a game this year..even with the disappointment with a loss.

Actually the SEC is much deeper this year than last year. Also, remember that UT started out with a high ranking partially based on having a 1st team All SEC performer who has since been dismissed from the team. Then UT knocked off #1 Kansas without him so they can play a little bit. Last night, the TJ defense had the Vols befuddled most of the night and if TMitch hits his normal percentage the Tigers win. LSU also played USC(the team that beat Kentucky) very tough and Ole Miss as well. They have less talent than any team in the league but the effort is typically there as it was last night. I feel sorry for TM but other than that we all knew the team would struggle mightily this year. Even so , they've had absolutely no good fortune. Could easily have won 3 or 4 more games with any breaks at all. Just one of those years and it will be forgotten by this time next season IMO. Severe talent upgrade will be arriving in BR next fall.

It's not about what Tennessee does. It's about what LSU does.

Stop comparing LSU to others and convince LSU to set the standard.

LSU is deeply lacking in talent and depth this year.

But if you have watched their games you have seen a team that plays the entire game and shown a lot of heart. This team has been in just about every game to the buzzer.

That goes to coaching and Trent is doing a great job with a very thin roster this year/

They lost to Bama by 15+ twice, Miss. St by 16, Ole Miss by 10, and Florida by 14. Not exactly been that competitive in SEC play.
