Best way to shop around for a mortgage

We just got a purchase contract on our existing house, so we need to find a new place to live soon. We're already pre-qualified thru Chase, but I'd like to shop around to get the best possible deal.
We plan to be in this house for 20+ years, planning to do 30% down payment, and our credit score is 800. So I'm thinking we're in a good position to shop around.
What is the best way to shop around? LendingTree.com? Call around?

let me save you a lot of time . and i lot of time you will waste of the poor bastards trying to get your loan. go to your bank . if you put that much down and have a credit score above 740 you should get 30yr rate around 4.875% with no origination. if you have the credit and downpayment you cant beat a bank loan

homepath.com ..Fannie Mae selling their homes for zero to 3 percent down. No mortgage insurance. Will give 3.5 % back on home price. Unreal financiing and deals. Check out their homes. Only 16 in Baton Rouge but tons in Florida where I am moving.

The 2 houses I have bought I have a friend that's a mortgage broker. He does all the leg work for me, and has gotten really good deals for me for both mortgages.
