like trent dilfer said this morning, the better team argument holds no water. the better team does give the ball up 5 times. the better team does not make crucial mistakes at the end of the game. more yards gained does not equal better team. go back to the rant.

I agree that I don't care what the national media thinks or doesn't think ... totally irrelevant to me. Also, by the way, whether the Saints win or lose doesn't affect my self-esteem, as I don't block, tackle or kick. That said, I have followed the Saints all of my life and greatly enjoyed the win. As a lifelong football fan I have learned that stats by and large are meaningless, other than the only meaningful stats - the points on the scoreboard. The team that scores the most points wins the game ... that means, on that particular game, they were the better team. By definition. If they gave points for number of yards gained, etc., that might be a different matter. But they don't. The Saints give up yards, but also cause turnovers, which usually, lead to the Saints scoring points. Not too difficult to understand, really. Give it a try.

Even if the Vikings dominated the stats against us last night, that does not make them the better team. We were the #1 seed because we were the best team in the NFC all year long. If the Vikings were the better team they would have earned the #1 seed and the game would've been played in Minnesota and maybe the result would've been different, but you need to realize that there is a difference between being outplayed and just flat out being the better team. Often times the better team finds a way to win even if they are outplayed.

If big #51 was making a play on the ball it never would have been called. He did make contact with the receiver while the ball was in the air and he was not making a play on the ball.
Looks like an 'okay' call to me.

Ok, let me say this in words you can understand. They did not catch the ball. We did, hence us winning. We are the better team. If St. Louis had caught the ball then maybe they wouldn't have only won 3 games. Does that make them better than we are too?
