Why does the king tease fans year in and out saying "next year I'll compete in the dunk contest"? This is similar to a crackhead saying yeah I'll quit tomorrow; maybe not but I enjoy the comparison.

Why would he dunk? I mean think about it logically.

He has nothing to gain and everything to lose. If he dunks great and wins, so what everyone thought he was great anyway. If he shows up and just looks awful, he ruins the reputation he's spent a lifetime building.

WTF?

Also, is it even possible for Lebron to look "awful" while dunking the ball?

Did Dwight ruin his reputation by losing the dunk contest last year?

People keep saying he has nothing to gain and everything to lose, but it is the exact opposite IMO. If he loses he is still LBJ and everyone loves him. If he wins then it's all we are going to hear about for the next two weeks.

Lol why does everyone keep saying this?
Jordan was already one of the best dunkers in the game when he competed in the dunk contest. But the dunk contest made him a legendary dunk artist. One of the best if not the best of all time.
Lebron can throw it down hard. That's what we know. He has plenty to gain.

The dunk contest is such a piece of crap. Who cares?

How about a real skills competition? By the way I like the 3 point contest.
