In recent years, have any of the Tiger LB's been a Butkus Award finalist?

Bradie James was a semif1nalist for the award in 2002

Bradie was the last one?

Kelvin Shepard has the best chance at making a name for himself next year. Last "dominant" LB? James/Faulk no question.

We need someone to really step up next year and be a force.

This is going to sound like a joke... But weren't Riley and Beckwith finalists after the 2008 season?

would have to be bradie
until his last year when saban decided to fatten him up and move him to the middle

I'm alittle giddy at Ryan Baker's potential

I've been waiting to see him on the field for 2 years, I think he comes on strong this year.

same here. if he plays linebacker like he plays special teams he may kill someone.

this is obviously not the only criteria for being a "dominant LB"
Bradie James certainly fit the bill

Got that right. When watching my replays, I go slo-mo to find Baker and then he leads me to the ball. Baker and Graff were my favorites. Graff for his speed and Baker for his consistency and hitting.
I agree on Bradie James.

only after Ace Foyil. But seriously, have we ever had a BEAST at LB? i agree that James was probably our best shot at an elite LB, but we can't add his pro career to the thought.

Adam McConathy.

Beckwith before his knee injury was considered top be a top LB. Unfortunate injury and it cost him and us. James was last truly dominant LB. Shepard has all the earmarks for it. He has a nose for the ball, and after the u.l.l. game really started improving in his tackling and not overrunning the ball carrier. He always seems to be right at the hole where the run is going. He should have a huge year next year after two years of training under Chavis.
