All seem to be cut from the same TX qb mold..I would dare say Lee is more physically talented than McElroy and Gilbert. So why isn't he our starting qb? (asking this with appropriate sarcasm) What do these other kids have that he doesn't? Why can't he be developed? Coaching??? just maybe

something missing between the ears...

He isn't the starting QB because of 7(?) picks returned for touchdowns last year.
I think the coaching staff coached JJ based on that stat. JJ's had very few picks. Of course that means he took more sacks and threw it away more, but that is preferable.
Perhaps Lee just doesn't get it and can't be trusted to do what he is asked to do.

Yes Yes...I get it. But the Gilbert kid made many mistakes last night as well. You could compare that game to LEE's first game against Auburn. He made mistakes but also showed flashes of brilliance. However money says that next year and the year after that he become their staring QB and yet another weapon in the Texas QB system..

yea i get what your saying...lee has shown potential but after ( i dont know how many games hes started) you would think he would get better but hasnt..and last night gilbert was put into the NC game against bama's defense...

auburn sucked last year. gilbert almost led texas to a come from behind win against the best team in the country on the biggewst stage.

true....i dont think Lee wouldve been able to do that

QB development is looking really inferior for us.

I think we ruined Lee with that 2008 season. He wasn't ready and we just had to throw him out there.
In the NFL, they used to never play the rookie QBs because of this syndrome. Develop them for success then allow them to go out and do well; because if they get owned in their first season, they'll be ruined forever. Latest example: Ryan Leaf

You could certainly say this about JJ as well

its called nuts, they drop for some, some they dont...balls you know...being a man...not being skeered... kinda like gilbert in the 2nd half...fricker grew up quick and it was fun to watch...wish him the best of luck..

We still have no QB! Rant all u want, but next yr. we will still be in the same fix.

Coaching.
It is rather apparent that the coaching has not been done to develop our qbs, along with other positions.

right....i think thats why we cant get any good qbs to sign with LSU is bc we cant develop them into heisman contenders and NFL type qbs

Jeezus, it still comes down to the most fundamental part of every winning football team...
you need great line play, period. For that you need great talent and good sound coaching. We have one but not the other. If the lines are outstanding, it sure makes the rest of the team look quite good.

Lee is more physically talented than Gilbert!!?? Based on what??? Gilbert is a 5 star stud and showed that in the second half last night (against a terrific SEC defense). Does anyone really see Lee doing that?? Geez!

The only difference is he came to LSU when developing qb's seems not to be a priority. Crowton would rather fool the other team with personnel and shifts, than to actually work to develope a qb that thinks on the field.
Understand, Crow is trying to do the thinking for them, that's his whole scheme.
Therefore, no developement takes place like a young qb should.
