My take on things!!

First off I’ve never seen this board so split down the middle.
IMO Les Miles is a great guy and a good coach. Whether he's a great one IMO will be determined next year. I’ve met him several times and to me he seems like an okay guy. Sticks to his morals and has integrity. In 2011, I’ll be very confident when La’El signs his LOI that Miles will turn him into a man and not just some football player.
But it does confuse me when he speaks the way he does on TV because he doesn't speak that way when I'm around him. Maybe he’s camera shy. But he’s paid to coach, not be a great public speaker. When it’s all said and done next season will tell it all. For me it’s all or nothing. He’ll have no excuses. Experienced D and O but if he is fired expect a lot of 2011 recruits to out of state.
Everyone is saying we could have easily been 7-6 this season but no one is saying we could have easily been 11-1. 1 inch further and 6 inches to the left we would have lost the MooState and Arky games but in reality 3 seconds more and two blown calls by the refs and we would have beaten Bama and Ole Miss. But none of you negatigers are saying this. Every team throughout the season has some sort of luck (Alabama and Florida this year), this year it just didn't go our way.
It amazes me at how people on here bash the players, especially JJ. Point is he was a 1st year starter and one of the youngest QB’s in the nation. Can anyone name a team that has 10+ wins with a 1st year starter that’s under the age of 20? Have any of you that’s bashing ever played a down of college football let alone high school? Give the guy time to develop. But hey the 2nd string QB is always the best QB.

I do not like the way he uses the word "want".

I don't thinks it's very split right now. Most of us think it's more on the coaches than it is on the players.

He isn't. We all know it. Some of us are over it and cheering on the Tigers while waiting for our next coach to arrive (he'll likely be hired in December 2010).

If you include stellar recruiting into the equation, Les Miles is a good coach, not a great coach.

Im only concerned about his time at LSU. His record is 51-15. But don't get me wrong I don't have any Les Miles blinders on. I just think he deserves more credit than he gets. For instance, if he would have left in 07'. Would we have a national championship for that year?

I don't care if Les Miles is a good guy or not. I want him to stop losing games over things like poor clock management. Saban was an arse to players when they screwed up. Miles wants to call them over and whisper sweet nothings in their ears.
Treat these guys like men- chew them out when they mess up and demand excellence. That's what we demand of Coach Miles and when we lose games because of poor clock management and poor schemes, I want to scream.
And by the way i met Les Miles recently and he was a total dick... But I would not have cared if he had won last week.

As a head coach he lacks the ability to express his thoughts to players other coachs and the media. With the right oc and a little luck he can be a winner becuase of where hes at LSU. We watched the spread get spread last night when iowa beat gt and we just cant win with crowtons offensive sceems

It is as much as how you play as it is win or lose.
Yes, we could have beaten Ole Miss and Bama. We could have beaten Penn State. And we could have lost to Miss State, Arkansas and UGA.
But all those games were closer than they should have been because LSU does not play to its potential. And we have never done so under this coach.
This is what the Les Miles apologists refuse to see.
