Saban was an arse to players when they screwed up. Miles wants to call them over and whisper sweet nothings in their ears.

quote:

Treat these guys like men- chew them out when they mess up and demand excellence. That's what we demand of Coach Miles and when we lose games because of poor clock management and poor schemes, I want to scream.

And by the way i met Les Miles recently and he was a total dick... But I would not have cared if he had won last week.

Miles and Saban are two different people. Why do you want him to do what Saban does. For some reason this guy pulls in great recruits year in and out. And please don't give me that he recuits like he does because he's at LSU crap. So something must be right cause if not these players would be going elsewhere. IMO!!

Why do people always say this about Miles? Don't get me wrong, I don't know that it's not true. But I wonder why so many people who either don't know Miles at all or maybe have only met him by virtue of being a booster seem to always want to declare this as a FACT?

No, no, you slippery eel-like creature. You're dodging my question.

I specifically said I don't KNOW anything about Miles' character - I live a time zone away and don't follow the local BR scene and can only observe him through the media and his public appearances. I'm asking why so many people - people like me who regardless of where they live don't truly KNOW Miles - state that his character is above reproach.

I take from your reply/non-answer that you think "no bad stories must mean good character." Fair enough. Insufficient it seems to me to make a DECLARATION about a person's character but fair enough as a start.

I am not going to get into the what if's about Bama, Ole Miss, or Miss St. Plain and simple with Miss and Miss St, even can throw Ark in there. Those games should have never had to come down to the final seconds like they did. The only reason was because of coaching. Contrary to what some think on here, most of us are not upset with the overall record it is how we were coached in the majoority of the games this year. Never showed any signs of improvement that mattered one bit. And you can choose to believe it or not but the fact is LSU fotball is in trouble and until some MAJOR changes are made it will continue to spiral down.
As far as the board being split so evenly I think the majority has seen the light and wants to live in the real world. There will always be some fools that defend Miles no matter if he goes 2-10 every year. They will always think he is just a season away from turning things around . Good character, good guy means nothing. He is supposed to be the leader and if that means not being the players or other coaches friends and having to chew some arse or shake some people around and is not up for that then he needs to go and for the other obvious reasons aw well.

If Saban and Meyer are the best, who can we get that can beat them? Their is not that many great coaches, alot of good but not great.

His record is 51-15.

His SEC record should bear more weight then the overall W-L record. He's 8-8 in the SEC over the past 2 years.

What's his overall SEC record since he's been at LSU?
