I got this email tonight, and I gotta say that this kind of stuff is just ticking me off. I understand these are mistakes, but give me a break. What makes me most upset about this email, is that someone would actually blame Miles and his staff for RP's troubles. Give me a flippin break.

quote:

Dear Mr. Alleva, Please see below:

2005: - It is widely-rumored that the players do not respect the new coach and tease him and his lack of intelligence and charisma.

9/26: Complete 2nd half meltdown against Tennessee. Largest blown lead in the history of LSU football.

12/3: Blowout at the hands of Georgia despite having one of the most talented teams in the country.

2006

9/16: LSU has 3 first-round draft picks in the passing attack alone AND Auburn's best DB is injured yet LSU runs the ball up the middle a large portion of the game and loses 7-3.

10/07: 5 unforced tunovers- a complete meltown in a loss to Florida costing LSU a chance at any championship despite having likely the best team in the country.

2007

10/13: Charles Scott rushes for 94 yards and two touchdowns in the 1st half yet doesn't touch the ball again until the last play of the game in overtime, which, was run at an injured LSU tackle to block.

11/23: LSU's #1 ranked team loses to a one-dimensional Arkansas team that went on to lose 38-7 to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl. - from a series of magical events, LSU manages to end up in the National Title game to face a lowly Ohio State team and win a title, thus belittling past, present and future coaching blunders.

2008: Miles and company are unable to do what Jacksonville St. has managed to do: keep Ryan Perrilloux out of trouble, thus are forced to dismiss their starting quarterback. Miles has a chance to replace Bo Pelini with a big time DC yet chooses to promote from within, which, turned out to be a recipe for disaster. - After the most dissapointing season in recent history, Les Miles opts to retain dual defensive coordinators but only after Alleva forces upon, he replaces them with John Chavis.

2009

National Signing day 2009: The families of wide receiver recruits Rueben Randle and Deangelo Benton learn that Les Miles had been making the same promises to each player and Miles is forced to withdraw scholarship offer from the 5 star receiver Benton, which, turns out to be a major loss to the program.

Fall 2009: LSU #3 receiver, Tim Molton, leaves the team for personal reasons saying "LSU ain't what everyone think it is."

9/26: Russell Shepard led the team in rushing with only 4 rushes in the first half, yet does not touch the ball again the rest of the game. - Despite having an athletic, talented quarterback and a roster full of NFL talent on offense, LSU's offense ranks 108th nationally. - After being coached in the system for over two years, LSU's top two QBs Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee, show little to no improvement. - Les Miles promises two star recruits, Russell Shepard and Rueben Randle vast playing time, yet sits them on the bench most of the season.

11/21: coaching debacle and controversy the center of loss to Ole Miss causing LSU to be the laughing stock of the nation and turning many fans against Les Miles- including myself.

12/11: LSU's top recruit and wide receiver prospect, Mike Davis, decommitts from LSU and committs to Texas citing part of the reason as the lack of utilizing freshmen Rueben Randle.

1/1/10: LSU loses on a wet field to Penn State 19-17 and only manages to net only 41 yards on the ground. - the last time LSU played on a wet field: Mississippi State. The Rushing leader of that game: Russell Shepard on only 4 carries. - guess who didn't touch the ball ONE TIME during the loss to PSU!!?? After it's all said and done, we have enjoyed many accomplishments the last five years and are thankful for them but many Tigers fans, such as myself, have endured enough senseless blunders at the hands of a an arrogant, dishonest, incompetent, stubborn and unintelligent coach.

Time for change!!!

He's writing TO Alleva, yet refers to him in the third person?

I'd say this load of shite would give Alleva a belly laugh.

But of course he won't even read it.

This Miles-bashing "letter campaign" is mostly getting a bunch of morons excited at what they perceive is their chance to finally do something "meaningful."

Alleva and the BOS will consider the source.

Wow, that is a perfect example on what NOT to send to Alleva and the BOS members. I'm going sit down and write a letter tomorrow, but not in that fashion.

I'm "guesstimating" that TAF donations will be down at the minimum $500k this upcoming year.

My only basis for this is the level of TAF donators around my level that have expressed that they won't be making their normal contribution this year. I took that dollar figure and divided it in half for those that will still write the check anyway.

Wow, just wow. The season sucked, but this person could at least get some facts straight. Like Perilloux getting supsended for the season opener this year. Some fans just make me want to puch a wall.

A lot of empty seats in Tiger Stadium (At the start of games, not because of the see and be seen status/attention whores that leave at halftime/third quarter) will spell the end of the LM era. That's the only thing that will do it. When things become unacceptable to enough fans, they'll show their displeasure by not going to games. That's what has happened before every LSU coach firing. Empty seats = New Coach........

So you are suggesting that the athletic budget is running a huge surplus every year.
I wonder why ticket prices and other expenses piled on fans keep going up?

This used to be somewhat true.

MAYBE it still is.

However, most of those lower bowl seats (and a lot of others) are corporate-held. Hell, the big corporations are getting to be the only ones who can afford them.

Those tickets are doled out to people who could really not give a shite about LSU football--at least as far as living and dying with it.

Those are the folks who leave at halftime. They'd leave at halftime of a MNC season if the weather got a little chilly.

So ... those seats are empty whether the team is winning or losing.

Thank TAF for that.

And--with SEC TV money these days--the empty seats in the uppers don't really matter.

In other words, Joe Average Fan doesn't mean a helluva lot anymore to the Tiger Athletic Machine.

Things would have to get VERY bad for there to be 40-60K in the stands

I'm not saying butts in the seats is totally irrelevant--but it's a helluva lot less relevant than what it used to be.

I never said "everything was fine and dandy," jackleg.

I'm not interested in reciting my views to you, but I'm tired of this infantile shite with these rantards screaming like 3 year olds.

CLM is NOT going to be fired this offseason, nor should he be.

Deal with it.

Next season will be a key season, sure.

But if I EVER am calling for Miles's head, the last thing I would want is for many of the Rantards who post on this board who couldn't spell cat if you spotted them the "c" and the "a"--to be writing to Alleva.

Clear enough?

If that is a legitimate e-mail someone sent to Alleva, that's ranter gold right there. Hall of Fame type material.

sir, mam, kid whoever you are; your attempt to make it look like someone sent you that letter as an email, is a lame attempt at being honest.

you may have lived in B.R. but now in Alababma, it can't be because of a job? you are more like a bama student and would do anything to coninue to bash (send subliminal messages) from your pink elephant crowd.

Hostility, hostility, hostility. Why so hostile? Why are so many strangers on this board hostile to people they have never even met? Just askin'.
