But just for the sake of arguing, the 2008 and 2009 NFL drafts look pretty even to me.
In 08, you had five guys drafted before our first guy was, and three more drafted overall.
In 09, we had one more guy drafted than you, and our guys were overall ahead, but your first guy was drafted before our first.
I'd say in 08, you had a lot better draft than us, and in 09, we had a better one, but it was closer.
And talent's not just in the draft, FWIW.

like how you ONLY said offensive players
because you said this

BUT AGAIN Flynn was able to use BETTER AND FASTER players to execute that game plan
Matt Flynn was the QB, not the coach so the only players he was able use are on offense.

LSU'S D In that game was faster off the ball and it showed.
there is a difference between being quick of the ball and overall team speed. It boils down to the D vs the OL. OSU OL was slow.

OK you win, the talent at OSU sucks.

Why did you select the record over the last ten years? How did you come to pick that length? Is it because you cherrypicked the span that supported your argument the most?
Overall record through 2008 66-47-2.
Why don't you look up the record over the last 5 years? I think that is a lot more relevant to today's game. Get back to me with that.

Well Since the 06 Bowl Games it's tied
06: Big X 2: SEC 1 (Fla winning the NC though)
07: Big X 1: SEC 2 (LSU again)
08: 1 to 1
09: 1 to 1
06: Big X 2: SEC 1 (Fla winning the NC though)
07: Big X 1: SEC 2 (LSU again)
08: 1 to 1
09: 1 to 1

ESPN put it up as a graphic before the Capital One Bowl yesterday. That's why I selected it. There is a lot of SEC rumor and not a lot of facts when it comes to bowl records. Heck Bear is the winningest bowl coach in SEC history and he only has 15. Joe has 24 and he's still going.

Thank you. Two national championships over the beloved Buckeyes.

well jesus christ I'd hope so. When you coach for the better part of a century, you should be able to accumulate some wins.

why are you acting like its an either or proposition? Comparing it to Boise and OU etc. No one said OSU has never had any talent. Just that LSU had more talent in 2007, I think that is pretty clear.

It comes from the pride of the Big 10 getting crushed in NCs and BCS bowl games lately by the SEC. What happened 10, 15, 20 years ago really doesn't matter anymore. It is all about, "what have you done for me lately".

And I agree with that but yall are making it sound like the talent gap was so large that coaching didn't matter. Go read the first few posts after my first post.

so what then is your ultimate point? That Miles is a good coach? That Tressel is not? In 2007 LSU > OSU. While lesser talented teams do win all the time as you pointed out, more often than not the better team wins. The talent gap was big enough. LSU also still had Bo P at DC, he was responsible for coaching the D in that game. So the overall talent of the staffs was not as big as the gap at the HC slot.

Yeah but it's not like we were 5-7 for 30 years or something like that. Heck he's been head coach for 43 years and he's been in 36 bowls (24-11-1.) So we have nearly a 70 percent win percentage in bowls, won every major bowl in existence, have 5 unbeaten seasons (1968, 1969, 1973, 1986, 1994) and even if you count the 2000-2004 meltdown (we did go to one bowl in there) we've had way more winning seasons than losing ones.
I think the number at one point was 5 losing seasons in 63 years (going back to Rip included.) You have to give Joe a lot of credit for not only lasting that long but keeping the program competitive.

Please read my OP and what Parliment was saying on the first page. I've explained it multiple times.
I wouldn't be talking shite about a mentally handicapped basketball player after he just beat me last week even if he is 6'4 and can jump out of the building. And no I don't like Miles. He has gone full retard. LINK
