I think I read somewhere that the largest bases by rank were
1) Baton Rouge
2) Houston
3) New Orleans

probably New Orleans but that is just a guess.

considering houston is the 4th largest city in the country and new orleans (including jefferson parish) has less than 800,000 people...it is possible that there are more total lsu alumni there. obviously per capita new orleans would be higher, not sure which source you are quoting. but, i'm not convinced that this is correct.

Houston wouldn't surprise me at all, I'd believe it

There is no way that New Orleans has more than Houston.
The city of New Orleans is listed in 2008 with a population of 311,853. The metro area has 1,134,029.
The city of Houston is listed in 2008 with a population of 2,242,193. The metro area has 5,728,143.
Since the percent of college graduates in New Orleans is only about 26%, I don't see how they could have a bigger alumni base.
Living in Houston, Texas, ATM, and LSU fans dominate the city.
As another poster said, per capita the NOLA number might be higher but the actual number of LSU alumni is going to be greater in Houston.

are we talking enrollment in Alumni chapters?
because it would be hard for me to believe Houston due to the fact that LSUHSC is in NOLA. Than again I have been revering to Houston as a black hole due the large number of undergrad friends moving there for jobs.

This is reason enough to play a Texas A&M/LSU football game in Reliant Stadium with a 50/50 ticket split.

Has anyone said that Houston sucks yet? Some of the nicest folks in Texas, but that's not saying much. Might be an indictment of LSU's education if so many folks have to move there for employment.

I have no idea the point you're attempting to make. Are you saying LSU grads aren't qualified for Louisiana jobs and have to seek employment in Texas?

No, just saying...if that's how far it got ya...
I GTFO of Louisiana after LSU also, but Houston sure a frick wasn't the goal.

Okay, now I see where you were going. I left Louisiana after graduation as well but it was a decision made for me when my father relocated our family business to the Gulf Coast.

I'm on the Mississippi coast now too, although that wasn't the first stop out of La. I like it over here.

are you one those people who classify new orleans as just orleans parish?
what are people considering new orleans? orleans, jefferson, st bernard, upper plaquemine, lower st tammany, eastern st charles?

I moved away after graduation also, but I knew I would be back. After 13 years I am back in God's Country!
