I lived in Houston for 12 years, then came back to Louisiana. Houston has more Alumni for one reason only. Back in the 80's it was cheaper (and easier to get into) to go to LSU than TAMU or UT. Kids could get away from home, party like mad and it cost less than commuting from Bryan to College Station. It was stupidly cheap. From 83-88 tuition went from $375ish full time to 960ish!. Out-of-state tuition was double in-state. That was still a bargain in '88.

almost impossible to find a job in LA. Most of my graduating class went to Atlanta, Houston or Dallas. I can safely say I did not know one kid from Texas when I went to LSU. I knew plenty from Michigan, Ohio and Colorado since they could go to LSU for less than in state tuition in their own state.

With the logic most of you are using....
1) HOU
2) BTR
3) NOLA

This topic has come up recently on another message board, and most folks seem to think Houston has the largest alumni for both A&M and LSU. Can anyone verify for LSU?
